OBJECTIVE:
Create awareness and increase viewer-ship for programming on Discovery Network’s Discovery Health Channel. Reach target consumers- family gate keepers- with an overall healthy lifestyle message to make a meaningful impact in their lives. Promote Sponsors (Pepsi and SmartSpot) products and demonstrate how they help obtain a healthier and more fit lifestyle.
SOLUTION:
The TOTAL FAMILY HEALTH TOUR. A 53 foot big rig with slide out stage and two side tents visited fairs and festivals for 20 weeks over 2 years. Consumers were invited on board to visit our Family Balance, Disease and Condition, Fitness and nutrition and Preventive Care areas, complete with activities for all and kiosks and screen with Discovery Health, Fit TV and Discovery Kids programming. The rig was staffed by medical, fitness and health care professionals and PepsiCo sampled 8 different SmartSpot products. Celebrity guest speakers took our stage and addressed crowds, among them Regis Philbin, Dr Ahmet Oz, former NFL Players and Lance Armstrong.
RESULTS:
We drove impressive quantities of traffic to DiscoveryHealth.com where consumers could check out webcasts of guest speakers in other markets, pass along health information to friends and take quizzes on their nutrition.
